This is a project tries to explore an climate-responsive kinetic facade which can adapt to various climate conditions. We developed an adaptive system which can perform real-time reaction to the environment and further optimize the annual building performance while at the same time keep the flexibility to accommodate various programs and needs.

A Double Glazing Facade which Allows Heated Air to Exhaust During Summer

Metrics that calculate the percentage of floor area where illuminance > 300 lux in a day under multiple options of facade panel angles. Through the metrics, we are able to identify the most optimized panel angle for each hour in a day and further develop an operate manual for each day.
